Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HashiCorp Vault Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure secrets management solutions using HashiCorp Vault. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in infrastructure automation, security best practices, and Linux system administration, along with hands-on expertise in deploying and managing Vault in enterprise environments.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of overall IT experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault
- 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform preferred)
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience in security-focused roles or working with secrets management, encryption, or identity systems
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage HashiCorp Vault clusters for secure secrets management
- Implement authentication methods, policies, and secret engines in Vault
- Automate Vault deployment and infrastructure using Terraform or other IaC tools
- Integrate Vault with enterprise applications and cloud platforms
- Manage encryption, key rotation, and access control policies
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Vault performance and availability
- Ensure compliance with security standards (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Cloud teams to enhance infrastructure security
- Maintain documentation for Vault architecture, processes, and procedures
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault (installation, configuration, scaling)
- Proficiency in Terraform for provisioning infrastructure
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration
- Experience with Git and version control workflows
- Knowledge of encryption, PKI, TLS, and key management
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms (LDAP, OAuth, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Familiarity with networking concepts (firewalls, VPNs, secure communication)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other HashiCorp tools like Consul or Nomad
- Experience with additional IaC tools such as CloudFormation or Pulumi
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation
- Experience in compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Familiarity with cloud integrations (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault, etc.)
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux-based environments hosting Vault
- Strong understanding of network security configurations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in remote environments
Certifications (Preferred)
- HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate
- HashiCorp Certified: Vault Operations Professional

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
