Position Summary
Federal Soft Systems is looking for a specialized HW Python Automation Engineer with significant experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). This is a high-impact contract role located in Sunnyvale, CA, or Austin, TX, requiring a full-time, 5-day-a-week on-site presence. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between hardware testing and intelligent automation, leveraging AI/ML models to optimize testing workflows and predictive maintenance for hardware systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated test frameworks using Python for complex hardware systems.
- Integrate AI and Machine Learning algorithms into automation scripts to enhance defect detection and system optimization.
- Collaborate with hardware design teams to define automation requirements and validation strategies.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for hardware firmware and software components.
- Analyze large datasets generated by hardware tests using ML techniques to identify patterns and potential failure points.
- Optimize test execution times and resource allocation through intelligent scheduling and automation.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware/software interface issues in a lab environment.
- Document test plans, automation architectures, and AI model performance metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, specifically for automation and scripting.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Background in hardware testing, validation, or embedded systems.
- Experience with automation tools and libraries (e.g., Pytest, Selenium, or custom HW interface libraries).
- Knowledge of MacOS development or hardware-level interactions is a significant plus.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days a week in Sunnyvale, CA, or Austin, TX.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
