Position Summary
VBeyond Corporation is looking for a seasoned IBM DataStage Developer with a strong background in the Healthcare Payer domain to join our client’s data engineering team in Chicago, IL. This is a long-term contract opportunity operating on a hybrid work model. We are seeking local candidates who possess at least 6 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing ETL solutions using IBM DataStage. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare data structures and the technical proficiency to manage complex data integration and migration projects within a regulated environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance ETL jobs using IBM DataStage (InfoSphere) to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
- Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts within SQL Server environments to support data transformation logic.
- Utilize Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting for job automation, batch processing, and troubleshooting within the ETL ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with data architects and business analysts to understand healthcare payer requirements and translate them into technical ETL specifications.
- Perform comprehensive unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of DataStage jobs to ensure optimal throughput and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security protocols, including HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to ETL best practices and organizational standards.
- Monitor production batch jobs and provide timely resolution for any data integration issues or failures.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as an IBM DataStage Developer.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, including advanced query writing and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments, including command-line operations and scripting.
- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, ETL lifecycles, and data integration techniques.
- Direct experience working within the Healthcare Payer domain, with knowledge of claims, enrollment, and provider data.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Must be a local candidate in the Chicago area for hybrid work arrangements.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
