- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize DB2 subsystems, including IRLM, buffer pools, and logging mechanisms. Conduct capacity planning to ensure the environment meets future growth requirements.
- Maintenance & Upgrades: Apply IBM PTFs (Program Temporary Fixes), perform version upgrades, and manage system maintenance using SMP/E and other z/OS utilities.
- Security & Compliance: Manage security and access controls using mainframe security software such as RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret. Ensure all environments comply with corporate security standards.
- Availability & Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) procedures. Support high availability and failover configurations, including familiarity with GDPS environments.
- Production Support: Provide 24×7 production support for system-level issues, troubleshooting complex mainframe problems and collaborating with storage, network, and system teams.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience as an IBM IMS / DB2 System Administrator.
- Extensive expertise in IMS DB (Full Function / Fast Path) and IMS TM.
- Deep knowledge of DB2 for z/OS system administration and subsystem configuration.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to document complex system architectures and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional infrastructure teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with recent IBM DB2 version upgrades.
- Exposure to IMS Connect and mainframe automation tools.
- Prior experience working onsite in large-scale US enterprise environments.
