Job Description: IBM ODM Software Engineer (Business Rules Consultant)

We are seeking a skilled IBM ODM Software Engineer to join the Business Rules Engineering team. The role focuses on building robust rule-based decisioning systems for high-volume transaction processing, fraud detection, and real-time alerting within the payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain IBM ODM (Operational Decision Manager) rule solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise for fraud prediction and transaction processing systems.
  • Analyze business requirements and implement rule-based solutions.
  • Design and optimize rule strategies using behavioral data and scoring models.
  • Develop and deploy rule changes in an Agile environment.
  • Validate and test rule changes using transactional data and SQL queries.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and accuracy of rule-based systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, product, and engineering.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with IBM ODM (Operational Decision Manager).
  • Hands-on experience in rule authoring and business rules management.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis.
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of fraud detection systems or transaction processing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Payments / Financial Services domain.
  • Knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Experience with custom application development and system integrations.
  • Exposure to test automation and behavior-driven development (BDD).

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Special Requirements

Hybrid role with relocation supported. In-person interview.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)

Location: O Fallon, MO
