Position Summary
The IGA Analyst role is a vital part of our cybersecurity infrastructure as we move into 2026. In an environment where identity has become the primary security perimeter, the management of user lifecycles and access rights is paramount. This hybrid position, based in New York City, focuses on strengthening the organization’s identity security posture across corporate, frontline, and operational technology (OT) environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for onboarding applications into our enterprise Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platform, modernizing authentication methods, and ensuring that our access controls align with Zero Trust principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with application owners to integrate and certify business-critical applications within the IGA platform (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt).
- Define and enforce granular access models, including entitlements and approval workflows, to ensure the principle of least privilege.
- Implement and manage segregation-of-duty (SoD) controls to prevent internal fraud and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Identify and remediate identity-related risks, such as orphaned accounts, excessive permissions, and privileged access sprawl.
- Lead technical debt reduction initiatives by cleaning up legacy configurations in Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Support the transition to phishing-resistant authentication, including FIDO2 security keys and passwordless sign-in technologies.
- Configure federated Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations and apply adaptive conditional access policies based on user context and risk.
- Collaborate with Privileged Access Management (PAM) teams to align session management with broader identity governance.
- Document and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to access certification and identity lifecycle performance.
Identity Governance in 2026
The landscape of identity management has evolved significantly. As an IGA Analyst, you are expected to manage identities not just for human users, but also for service accounts and non-human entities across multi-cloud environments. Your role involves staying ahead of identity-based threats by implementing automated lifecycle management—ensuring that access is granted, reviewed, and revoked in real-time as users move through the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to security, where governance is seen as an enabler of business speed rather than a bottleneck.
Cross-Domain Collaboration
You will work closely with security architecture, IAM engineering, and compliance teams to ensure that all IGA controls meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements (such as NIST 800-63B or TSA frameworks). This role requires excellent communication skills to translate technical security requirements into business-friendly language for application owners and stakeholders. You will also provide operational support for platform maintenance and upgrades, ensuring the high availability of identity services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience specifically within Identity Governance and Administration (IGA).
- Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID, and modern protocols like SAML, OIDC, and OAuth2.
- Familiarity with leading IGA and PAM platforms such as SailPoint, BeyondTrust, or CyberArk.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell or Python) for automating identity tasks and data analysis.
- Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and phishing-resistant MFA concepts.
Special Requirements
Local candidates (NY/NJ) only. In-person interview required. Hybrid work model.
