Position Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced IIB (IBM Integration Bus) and ACE (App Connect Enterprise) Java Developer to join our technical team in Hartford, CT. This role is specifically for local candidates who can contribute to the development and maintenance of robust integration solutions and microservices. As a key member of the middleware team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying complex integration flows that facilitate seamless data exchange across various enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop integration solutions using IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
- Develop and implement Java-based microservices to support modern enterprise architecture and digital transformation initiatives.
- Create and maintain message flows, sub-flows, and message sets using ESQL, Java, and graphical mapping tools.
- Integrate various systems using protocols such as SOAP, REST, MQ, and HTTP/HTTPS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support end-to-end system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to middleware and integration components.
- Optimize application performance and ensure scalability of integration solutions.
- Document technical designs, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in middleware technologies and microservices architecture to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) development.
- Strong proficiency in Java development, particularly in the context of enterprise integration and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Microservices architecture and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Solid understanding of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) patterns.
- Experience with message-oriented middleware, specifically IBM MQ.
- Proficiency in working with XML, JSON, XSLT, and XPath.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2) and SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex integration scenarios.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud) and cloud-native integration patterns.
- Previous experience in the insurance or financial services industry, particularly in the Hartford, CT market.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
