Job Title: Implementation Behavioral Health Analyst
Duration: 12+ months
Project Location: Bloomington & Granite City, IL
Employment Type: Hybrid (estimated ~ 60% to 70% remote)
Mode of Interview: Skype
Interview Process: 2 rounds of interviews for each candidate before client approval.
Travel: Will be covered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Health Workflow Analysis: Assess current behavioral health workflows including psychiatric evaluations, therapy sessions, substance use disorder treatment, and case management. Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements aligned with NextGen capabilities. Document future-state behavioral health workflows for implementation.
- EHR Configuration for Behavioral Health: Configure behavioral health modules within NextGen Healthcare EHR, including documentation templates, treatment plans, assessment tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7), and group therapy documentation. Customize forms and templates for different behavioral health specialties.
- Clinical Documentation & Compliance: Ensure documentation supports regulatory requirements such as behavioral health privacy protections, treatment plan standards, clinical outcome tracking, and integrated care coordination. Align with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
- Data Migration & Validation: Assist with migrating behavioral health records from legacy systems. Validate that sensitive data is properly mapped and protected, ensuring accurate transfer of treatment plans, notes, and diagnostic information.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test scripts for behavioral health workflows, supporting unit testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Validate documentation, scheduling, and billing workflows.
- Training & End-User Support: Provide system training to behavioral health clinicians and administrative staff. Develop training materials including workflow guides, documentation tip sheets, and configuration guides. Offer go-live support and command center leadership.
- Post-Implementation Optimization: Collect feedback from providers post-go-live. Identify opportunities to improve documentation workflows and provider efficiency. Support upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or Information Systems. Masters degree in behavioral health or health informatics is preferred.
- Experience: 3-7 years of experience in behavioral health or healthcare IT. Experience supporting EHR implementations or upgrades. Experience working with behavioral health clinicians. Familiarity with behavioral health documentation and treatment planning processes. Experience implementing or supporting NextGen Healthcare EHR is strongly preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
- NextGen system certifications are preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Healthcare Systems: NextGen Healthcare EHR, behavioral health clinical documentation modules, patient portal tools, care coordination workflows.
- Healthcare Data & Standards: Familiarity with ICD-10 mental health codes, CPT psychotherapy billing codes, clinical assessment tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7, behavioral risk assessments).
- Tools & Platforms: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio for workflow documentation, Microsoft Teams or collaboration tools, issue tracking platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
