Role Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Implementation Engineer to join our dynamic technical team in a fully remote capacity. This position is critical for ensuring the seamless deployment and integration of complex IT infrastructure solutions for our diverse client base. As an Implementation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of bridging the gap between client requirements and technical execution, specifically within high-stakes Data Center environments. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in networking, automation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, from initial testing to final hand-off and post-deployment optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute detailed implementation plans for client solutions, ensuring full compatibility with existing IT infrastructure and overarching business objectives.
- Perform rigorous pre-implementation testing to guarantee system stability, operational efficiency, and robust security protocols before live deployment.
- Provide comprehensive technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and architectural diagrams, to facilitate smooth handovers and long-term system maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during the implementation phase, delivering timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and project delays.
- Coordinate closely with project managers and cross-functional team members to deliver projects on time and within established budget constraints.
- Evaluate post-implementation system performance and provide ongoing support and optimization recommendations to enhance system longevity and performance.
- Manage migration work, which may include scheduled weekend activities to ensure minimal disruption to client business operations during critical transitions.
- Ensure all client solutions meet strict compatibility requirements with existing IT infrastructure and security standards.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a technical implementation, systems engineering, or network engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus platform switches and Arista networking equipment; familiarity with Arista CVP is highly desired for this role.
- Expert-level knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and other core routing and switching protocols.
- Mandatory experience with automation tools, specifically Ansible, to streamline deployment processes and reduce manual errors.
- Proficiency in Python programming is considered a significant advantage for developing custom automation scripts and tools.
- A strong background in Unix/Linux environments is preferred to manage modern server and networking stacks.
- CCIE certification is highly desirable and will be given preference during the selection process.
- Previous experience within the financial services sector, including insurance, banking, or investment banking, is a significant plus.
Professional Competencies
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to manage risk effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders both upward and laterally across the organization.
- Self-starter mentality with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to meeting strict delivery timelines.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and adapt quickly to shifting deadlines or technical issues.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability, with the professional maturity to hold others accountable for shared goals and project success.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and understand the broader business strategy to align technical actions accordingly.
Special Requirements
Ability to work weekends as needed for migration work.
