Resource Consulting Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Integration Lead to spearhead complex healthcare data exchange initiatives. This is a remote position based out of St. Louis, MO, focusing on the seamless interoperability of clinical data across diverse healthcare ecosystems. As the Integration Lead, you will be the technical authority responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust integration solutions that bridge the gap between disparate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and modern healthcare applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and end-to-end implementation of healthcare integration projects using industry-leading engines such as HealthConnect, IBM App Connect, Tibco, Mirth, or MuleSoft.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of HL7 v2.x and v3 message flows, with a specific focus on identity ingestion and ADT merge/unmerge (A40) processes.
  • Drive the adoption of modern interoperability standards by architecting FHIR-based APIs and RESTful services to support real-time data access.
  • Manage complex integrations with major EHR platforms including Cerner, Epic, Meditech, and Allscripts, ensuring high availability and data fidelity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, clinical workflows, and data mapping specifications.
  • Utilize TCP/IP, Pubsub, and other messaging protocols to ensure reliable data transmission across distributed systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of integration engineers, conducting rigorous code reviews and promoting best practices in software development.
  • Ensure all integration solutions comply with HIPAA regulations and industry security standards to protect sensitive patient information.

Technical Requirements

  • Proven expertise in Healthcare Integration Engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or HealthConnect).
  • Deep technical knowledge of HL7 standards (v2, v3, CDA) and FHIR (STU3, R4) frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in API development, including REST, SOAP, and Healthcare APIs.
  • Experience with identity management, patient matching algorithms, and master patient index (MPI) concepts.
  • Familiarity with clinical terminologies such as LOINC, SNOMED-CT, and ICD-10.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and asynchronous messaging patterns (Pub/Sub).
  • Hands-on experience with EHR integration and clinical data workflows.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in IT, with at least 5 years dedicated to healthcare integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or lead engineer capacity on large-scale enterprise projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering scalable and maintainable solutions.

In the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape of 2026, the Integration Lead plays a pivotal role in enabling data-driven patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly influence the future of medical interoperability. We are looking for a visionary leader who is passionate about technology and committed to excellence in the healthcare domain.
