Overview of the Ionic / iOS Developer Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Ionic / iOS Developer for an 8-month hybrid contract position in Washington, DC. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge mobile application development, working with both hybrid and native iOS technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building robust, scalable, and user-friendly mobile applications, with a particular emphasis on the Ionic framework and native iOS development. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications using the Ionic framework for cross-platform compatibility.
  • Develop and enhance native iOS applications, ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend developers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve application performance and stability.
  • Ensure the responsiveness and efficiency of applications across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, mobile technologies, and best practices in Ionic and iOS development.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to architectural guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing for mobile applications to ensure reliability and prevent regressions.
  • Work with APIs and integrate third-party libraries and services.
  • Manage app store submissions and updates for iOS applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, if applicable.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
  • Document technical specifications, designs, and processes.
  • Ensure security best practices are integrated into all development activities.
  • Adapt to evolving project requirements and priorities in an agile development environment.
  • Engage in proactive communication with team members and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven professional experience as an Ionic Developer and/or iOS Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in the Ionic framework, including Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Extensive experience with native iOS development using Swift/Objective-C and Xcode.
  • Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Knowledge of mobile security best practices.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and UI testing for mobile applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (onsite in Washington, DC, and remote).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, production-ready mobile applications.
  • Experience with performance optimization and memory management for mobile apps.
  • Understanding of the mobile app lifecycle, including deployment to the Apple App Store.
  • Candidates must have a LinkedIn profile created before 2021, indicating significant prior professional experience.
