Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support the planning and implementation of the GMS ITOR (Grid Management Systems IT Operations Readiness) program. This role will focus on developing and executing the operational readiness plan required to support grid systems in production environments.

The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, OT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations to ensure the organization is prepared to operate, support, and maintain critical grid platforms. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing IT initiatives, developing operational readiness plans, and applying ITIL-based service management principles to ensure sustainable support models.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Planning

  • Develop and manage the IT Operations Readiness (ITOR) plan for GMS-related systems and platforms.
  • Define project scope, schedule, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across multiple technology teams.
  • Coordinate planning activities required to transition grid systems from project delivery into steady-state IT operations.
  • Maintain project documentation, status reporting, and risk management processes.

Operational Readiness & Service Management

  • Build and document operational support models aligned with ITIL service management practices (Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management).
  • Define operational processes, runbooks, knowledge articles, and support documentation required for production support.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure readiness for system go-live.
  • Support development of monitoring, alerting, escalation paths, and service support procedures.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with grid operations, IT infrastructure, application teams, cybersecurity, and vendors to align readiness activities.
  • Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to gather requirements and define operational processes.
  • Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and readiness reporting to leadership.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Identify operational risks associated with system deployments and support readiness.
  • Track dependencies and coordinate mitigation strategies across teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal IT governance, operational policies, and service management standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience managing IT projects or programs.
  • Experience supporting operational readiness or service transition for enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and IT Service Management practices.
  • Experience coordinating across infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
  • Proven ability to develop project plans, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting grid systems, utility technologies, or OT environments.
  • Familiarity with Grid Management Systems (GMS), ADMS, EMS, SCADA, or other operational grid platforms.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with IT operations planning, runbook development, and service transition processes.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70 – $90 per year (Estimated)
