Job Title: IT System Security Administrator

Job Summary:
Our client, based in the Park Ridge, IL area, is seeking a skilled IT System Security Administrator with an emphasis on IT security to join their team for a 3-month contract. This role will involve installing, troubleshooting, and updating security software and hardware, managing user and service accounts, conducting inventory, scripting, and implementing security policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration and a deep understanding of IT security principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and update security software and hardware.
- Assist in user account creation, management, migration, and removal.
- Assist in service account creation, management, migration, consolidation, and removal.
- Perform hardware and software inventory management (handled remotely).
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
- Manage consolidation and migration from local Active Directory to Entra ID.
- Create reports from Microsoft security tools such as Defender and Purview.
- Develop and deploy Intune policies.
- Assist in the creation of baseline configuration standards.
- Create alerts on security logs for proactive threat detection.
- Remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the security and integrity of the IT infrastructure.
- Document security procedures and configurations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in System Administration.
- Significant experience in IT Security Support.
- Proven experience in installing, troubleshooting, and updating security software and hardware.
- Proficiency in user account creation, management, migration, and removal.
- Experience with service account creation, management, migration, consolidation, and removal.
- Experience with hardware and software inventory management (remote handling).
- Strong skills in PowerShell Scripting.
- Experience with consolidation and migration from local AD to Entra ID.
- Experience creating reports from MS tools (e.g., Defender, Purview).
- Experience with Intune policy creation and deployment.
- Experience in creating baseline configuration standards.
- Experience creating alerts on security logs.
- Experience in remediating vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance standards.

- Must be local to the Park Ridge, IL area.
- Willingness to participate in F2F interviews.
