Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE) Consultant to join our client’s team for a long-term contract role. This is a 100% onsite position in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE) in a production utility environment, along with strong knowledge of metering concepts and utility data flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on development, configuration, and customization within Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE).
- Configure and maintain meter definitions, meter types, firmware configurations, register mappings, and data channels.
- Support and troubleshoot IEE modules, including meter data acquisition and validation, interval data processing, events, alarms, and exceptions handling, and estimation, editing, and validation (EEV).
- Analyze meter data flows end-to-end, from field devices through head-end systems into IEE.
- Configure meter programs including TOU, register reads, interval data, and event data.
- Validate meter reads and ensure accuracy and completeness of metering data.
- Support meter lifecycle activities such as installation, exchange, reconfiguration, and retirement.
- Assist with meter data quality checks and performance optimization.
- Design, develop, and support integrations between IEE and upstream/downstream systems, including Head-End Systems (HES), Customer Information Systems (CIS), Billing systems, Outage Management Systems (OMS), and data warehouses and analytics platforms.
- Support batch and real-time interfaces, message-based integrations, and data validation.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, data mismatches, and latency issues.
Required Technical/Functional Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE) in a production utility environment.
- Strong understanding of metering concepts, including interval data, TOU, registers, and events.
- Experience working with electric and/or gas meters and AMI systems.
- Knowledge of utility data flows across metering, billing, and operational systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) such as Itron, Oracle MDM, SAP IS-U Device Management, or similar platforms.
- Ability to quickly ramp up on IEE architecture, modules, and configuration.
- Strong understanding of MDM data models, validation rules, and meter integration patterns.
- SQL and database querying for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Experience with batch processing, file-based interfaces, and/or messaging frameworks.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
- Understanding of utility integration standards and formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting AMI or Smart Metering programs.
- Prior utility industry experience (electric, gas, or water).
- Experience working in production support and enhancement roles.
- Knowledge of outage, billing, or customer systems integration.
- Exposure to SAP IS-U, CIS modernization, or cloud-based analytics platforms.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on hands-on development and investigations.
- Clear communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to document configurations, interfaces, and operational procedures.
