Role Overview
HMG America LLC is currently seeking a highly experienced and visionary Java Architect to join our direct client’s team in Atlanta, GA. This is a critical hybrid role requiring three days of onsite presence per week. As a Java Architect specializing in the Retail Domain, you will be responsible for the end-to-end architectural lifecycle of complex, large-scale retail systems. This position demands a blend of deep technical expertise in Java/J2EE and a profound understanding of retail supply chain and inventory management processes. You will be tasked with ensuring that the technical infrastructure can support the rapid growth and evolving needs of a modern retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and strategic roadmap for enterprise-grade Java applications focused on retail inventory planning and supply chain optimization.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate high-level business requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to senior and junior development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry best practices in software design, coding standards, security protocols, and performance optimization.
- Conduct comprehensive architectural reviews, code audits, and performance tuning to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and high availability.
- Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies and continuous improvement methodologies in system design and development processes.
- Manage technical debt and ensure the long-term sustainability and modularity of the retail platform’s architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Java/J2EE development and enterprise-level software architecture.
- Extensive domain expertise within the Retail sector, specifically regarding inventory systems, supply chain logistics, and retail planning.
- Advanced proficiency in the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
- Proven track record in designing and deploying Microservices architectures and high-performance RESTful APIs.
- Strong experience with cloud-native development, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.

The successful candidate will work within a modern technology stack that emphasizes high availability and scalability. You will be expected to navigate complex data structures and integrate various third-party retail services. Your role will involve optimizing database interactions, ensuring seamless API integrations, and maintaining the integrity of the retail data pipeline. This is a high-impact role where your architectural decisions will directly influence the efficiency of the client’s retail operations and their ability to respond to market demands in real-time.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
