Position Summary: Senior Java Back-End Developer
Convextech Inc is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer to join a high-impact team at 240 Greenwich St. in New York City. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the back-end of a complex microservices architecture. Your expertise in Java Microservice development will play a pivotal role in ensuring the scalability, performance, and robustness of our next-generation loans processing application. This project involves a unique combination of general engineering and cutting-edge distributed ledger/blockchain work, providing a challenging and rewarding environment for top-tier developers.
Core Responsibilities
- Microservices Development: Design and implement modular, testable, and re-usable microservices using Java Spring Boot.
- API Design: Create high-performance RESTful APIs and gRPC services to enable seamless communication between internal systems and external partners.
- Blockchain Integration: Contribute to the development of distributed ledger and smart contract components within the loan processing ecosystem.
- AI-Assisted Engineering: Utilize advanced AI tools such as Windsurf for code assistance to accelerate development cycles and maintain high code quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Front-End developers to deliver intuitive user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery of reliable software.
- Leadership: Provide technical input, manage blockers, and help refine pod backlogs to ensure a continuous flow of work.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Java Expertise: Strong mastery of Core/Advanced Java and J2EE frameworks.
- Frameworks: Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Data.
- Messaging & Tools: Proficiency with Apache Kafka, JIRA, and Junit.
- Architecture: In-depth knowledge of REST API principles, HTTP protocols, and microservices design patterns.
- DevOps: Solid grasp of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with Blockchain/Smart Contracts and front-end development (Angular) is highly desirable.
Interview Process and Location
This is an onsite position requiring 4+ days per week at our NYC office located in the heart of the financial district. The interview process is designed to be thorough and efficient, consisting of a technical panel interview followed by a second round focused on cultural fit, and a potential third interview with the product team. Candidates must be USC or GC holders. This is a 6-12 month contract with high visibility and the opportunity to work on transformative financial technology.
Special Requirements
USC/GC only; Onsite 4+ days per week; Blockchain/Smart contract experience preferred; AI tools (Windsurf) preferred; Interview: Technical panel, Fit, Product team.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
