Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Backend Developer for a long-term contract engagement in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is critical for our client’s digital transformation initiatives, focusing on building robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Java ecosystem and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade microservices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to final deployment and maintenance.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code that adheres to industry best practices and internal coding standards.
- Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and meet the architectural requirements of the distributed system.
- Prepare and produce releases of software components using automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers, to define and implement API contracts.
- Optimize application performance through profiling, heap dump analysis, and database query tuning.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Expert-level knowledge of Core Java (Java 11/17+), including OOPs, Collections, and Multi-threading.
- Extensive experience with the Spring Framework, specifically Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
- Proven expertise in building RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of Reactive Programming using Project Reactor or RxJava.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) or Azure.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Experience with DevOps tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Git.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
