Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend / Java Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas. This is an onsite position specifically tailored for the Oil & Gas Trading sector. The ideal candidate will possess over 8-12 years of professional experience in software development, with a deep focus on building robust, scalable backend systems and integrated full-stack solutions. This role is critical for supporting our energy trading platform, requiring a developer who not only understands high-level architecture but also the intricate details of the trading lifecycle.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience with Java (JDK 11/17+) and the Spring Ecosystem, particularly Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing Microservices architecture to support high-concurrency environments.
- Strong proficiency in backend technologies including RESTful APIs, Hibernate/JPA, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle).
- For Full Stack profiles: Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or React is highly desirable.
- Experience with messaging queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka for asynchronous processing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
Domain Expertise: Oil & Gas Trading
- Mandatory experience working within an Oil & Gas or Energy Trading platform environment.
- In-depth understanding of the trading lifecycle, including trade capture, clearing, and settlement processes.
- Knowledge of pricing engines, market data integration, and risk management modules (VaR, Credit Risk).
- Ability to interact with stakeholders, including traders and risk analysts, to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Professional Responsibilities
As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of features within our trading ecosystem. This includes participating in architectural discussions, performing code reviews, and ensuring the highest standards of code quality and security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-performance solutions that meet the fast-paced demands of the energy market. Your role will also involve troubleshooting complex production issues and optimizing system performance to handle large volumes of market data in real-time.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
