Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with extensive experience in EDI standards and integration technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Java applications, building robust REST APIs, and working with messaging systems like Apache Kafka. This role requires a strong understanding of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT), experience with integration platforms, and familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Java applications with a focus on enterprise-level solutions.
  • Build and implement RESTful APIs to support various business needs.
  • Utilize Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem for application development.
  • Implement and manage message producers and consumers for Apache Kafka, including schema management.
  • Apply best practices for error handling, retries, and Dead Letter Queue (DLQ) patterns.
  • Develop integrations using Apache Camel K.
  • Work extensively with EDI standards such as ANSI X12 and EDIFACT, including mapping and transaction validation.
  • Configure and manage connectivity using AS2 or VAN.
  • Write complex SQL queries and integrate with databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Utilize Git for version control and participate in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deploy applications using containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Gain experience with cloud environments, such as Azure.
  • Manage and utilize Schema Registry for Avro/JSON Schema.
  • Familiarity with DFDL, Smooks, or other EDI parsing frameworks.
  • Integrate with B2B platforms.
  • Implement and track message correlation and acknowledgments.
  • Support and troubleshoot production EDI and Kafka workloads.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Java development.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience building REST APIs.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, schema management).
  • Experience implementing error handling, retries, and DLQ patterns.
  • Experience with Camel K integrations.
  • Strong experience on EDI standards: ANSI X12, EDIFACT.
  • Experience with EDI mappings and transaction validation.
  • Experience with AS2 or VAN connectivity.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and database integration experience, Postgre SQL.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud environments like Azure etc.
  • Experience with Schema Registry (Avro/JSON Schema).
  • Knowledge of DFDL, Smooks, or EDI parsing frameworks.
  • Experience with B2B integration platforms.
  • Understanding of message correlation and acknowledgment tracking.
  • Experience supporting production EDI/Kafka workloads.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Columbus, OH
