Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Java Developer with a strong background in Oracle databases and Apache Kafka to join our client’s team for a hybrid role in Alpharetta, GA. This position involves designing, developing, and supporting scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in building robust backend services, seamlessly integrating messaging systems, and working within a modern microservices-based architecture. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and involves in-person interviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Java-based backend applications utilizing Java 8, 11, or 17.
- Build and maintain resilient microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
- Develop, optimize, and tune Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures for maximum performance.
- Implement and manage event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, and partitions.
- Ensure reliable message processing, implement robust error handling, and configure retry mechanisms within Kafka.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs with various third-party systems.
- Actively participate in code reviews, write comprehensive unit tests, and perform thorough debugging.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance (QA), DevOps, and Business Analysts, to deliver high-quality software.
- Champion application security, scalability, and performance best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide support for production issues and participate in on-call rotations as required.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong proficiency in Java (versions 8, 11, or 17).
- Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
- Significant experience with Oracle Database, including advanced SQL and PL/SQL development.
- Demonstrated experience with Apache Kafka (Kafka Streams experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in developing and consuming REST APIs and working with JSON data formats.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development.
