Role Overview

Virtuous Tek is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic engineering team for a critical project based in Illinois. This position requires a professional with over 8 years of hands-on experience in core Java development and a deep understanding of modern software architecture. As a key member of our development group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable Java-based applications that meet the high standards of our clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement high-performance Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks to ensure scalability and reliability across all modules.
  • Design and develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration between various system components and third-party services.
  • Lead the transition towards microservices architecture, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and ease of deployment across the codebase.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers, to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high code quality, ensure adherence to industry best practices, and mentor junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues within existing applications, providing timely resolutions and implementing performance enhancements.
  • Optimize database queries and manage relational databases (SQL) to ensure data integrity and application efficiency under heavy loads.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git and Jenkins to streamline the deployment process and reduce time-to-market.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our development processes and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Core Java development with a focus on enterprise-level applications.
  • Extensive expertise in the Spring Framework ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Hibernate ORM.
  • Proven track record of building and deploying microservices-based applications in a cloud environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and working with relational database management systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems, specifically Git, and a solid understanding of branching strategies.
  • Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
