Role Overview: Senior Java Developer
Agile Enterprise Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer for a long-term contract engagement in San Jose, California. This role is critical for a high-profile project, potentially within the Cisco ecosystem, requiring a developer who not only writes clean, scalable code but also understands the architectural nuances of modern distributed systems. The ideal candidate will possess over a decade of hands-on experience in the Java/J2EE landscape, specifically focusing on Java 11 and microservices architecture.
Key Technical Requirements
- Core Java Mastery: Extensive experience with Java 11.0, including deep knowledge of OOPS principles, Multithreading, Class loading, and the Collections framework.
- Microservices Architecture: Proven track record in developing and deploying microservices. You should be comfortable with service discovery, API gateways, and circuit breakers.
- Spring Ecosystem: Strong proficiency in Spring 3.0+ and Spring Boot is mandatory. You must understand the lifecycle of Spring beans and the configuration of Spring-based applications.
- Observability & Logging: Hands-on experience with the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack and GrayLog is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
- Web Technologies: Proficiency in RESTful Web Services, Object-Oriented JavaScript design patterns, and JavaScript MVC patterns (JQuery).
- Build & Version Control: Expert-level knowledge of Maven for build management and GIT/Gerrit for version control.
Professional Responsibilities
As a Senior Developer, you will be expected to manage your time effectively and meet strict deadlines with high-quality deliverables. You will participate in Scrum/Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives. A significant part of the role involves reviewing complex requirements and articulating or proposing alternate solutions to application architecture to ensure future scalability. You will be responsible for identifying and fixing memory leaks and optimizing collection usage to ensure high performance in a production environment. Prior experience working within the Cisco environment is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage during the selection process.
