Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Full Stack Developer (FSD) to join our client’s team in Chicago, IL. This is a long-term project requiring 5 days onsite per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong end-to-end product mindset, with expertise in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying applications. This role demands a blend of traditional front-end and back-end development skills, with a focus on modern technologies and architectural patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust applications using Core Java and J2EE, adhering to best practices and design patterns.
- Create and consume REST APIs and Microservices, ensuring seamless integration between different system components.
- Develop and maintain user interfaces using Angular or React, providing a responsive and intuitive user experience.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Work with both SQL and No-SQL databases, optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance.
- Collaborate within an Agile development environment, utilizing tools like Jira and Git for project management and version control.
- Leverage cloud technologies on AWS, including EKS, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, S3, IAM, Route 53, ELB, SNS, and SQS.
- Utilize managed streaming services like Kafka (MSK) and monitor application performance using CloudWatch.
- Apply strong knowledge of Microservice Architecture and C++ for specific project needs.
- Gain experience with Kafka/Kubernetes for scalable and resilient application deployment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java and J2EE.
- Experience with J2EE design patterns.
- Expertise in creating and consuming REST APIs and Microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Angular or React.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Solid understanding of SQL and No-SQL databases.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Git.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services (EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, S3, IAM, Route 53, ELB, SNS, SQS, MSK, CloudWatch).
- Experience with Kafka and Kubernetes.
- Good knowledge of C++.
- Experience with Fintech and digital platforms (e.g., PayPal).
- Strong Multithreading experience.
- Understanding of Microservice Architecture.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be local to Chicago, IL.
- Willingness to work onsite 5 days a week.
- This is a long-term project.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)
