Position Summary
Trident Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join a high-impact project for our premier financial services clients, Cognizant and JPMC. This contract position is based in New York City, with additional location options in Wilmington, Columbus, Plano, Jersey City, and Atlanta. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic Agile environment, contributing to the development of scalable, cloud-native applications that drive business innovation.
Core Responsibilities
- Engage in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initial design and architecture to deployment and maintenance.
- Develop high-performance, scalable backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot within a Microservices architecture.
- Build modern, responsive front-end interfaces using React and other contemporary JavaScript frameworks.
- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, utilizing services such as EKS, ECS, AWS Lambda, and Fargate.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure consistent and repeatable environment deployments.
- Design and optimize data persistence layers using AWS Aurora Postgres and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Implement robust logging and monitoring solutions using Datadog and AWS-native tools to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software increments in two-week sprints.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems to improve performance and security.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and consistency.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development with a focus on Java technologies.
- Deep proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and React.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies, including S3, RDS, and MSK (Kafka).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Jules for automated build and deployment.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to software engineering.
- AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification is highly desirable.
Interview Process and Contract Details
The interview process includes a Hacker Rank assessment, followed by one internal technical interview and a final in-person client round at a JPMC office. This is a one-year contract with a high likelihood of extension based on performance. We offer a competitive rate of $60/hr on C2C, providing an excellent opportunity for experienced consultants to work with industry leaders in the financial sector.

Interview Process: Hacker Rank + 1 internal + 1 in person client round at any JPMC office. Contract (C2C/W2). 1 year w/ extension.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $124,800 – $145,600 per year
