Role Overview
HMG America LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Full Stack Developer for a long-term hybrid engagement with one of our direct clients in the hospitality sector located in Orlando, Florida. This position is designed for a strong individual contributor who excels in a fast-paced environment and is capable of handling complex enhancements and bug fixes independently. As we move into 2026, the integration of AI-driven development tools is paramount, and this role specifically requires hands-on experience with AI/Copilot technologies to enhance coding efficiency and software quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications using Java and Spring Boot for the backend and React for the frontend.
- Implement and optimize microservices architectures, ensuring seamless communication between services and scalability.
- Utilize AI/Copilot tools to accelerate the development lifecycle, perform code reviews, and automate repetitive tasks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate complex requirements into functional software solutions.
- Manage the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including build processes, branching strategies, and version control using GitHub.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performing deep-dive testing and debugging to ensure system reliability.
- Contribute to the migration of legacy monolith systems to modern microservices-based architectures.
- Maintain high standards of code quality through rigorous testing and adherence to best practices in software engineering.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience in Java development, specifically with Spring Boot and Microservices.
- Strong proficiency in frontend technologies including HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, and React.
- Mandatory experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants.
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and GitHub branching strategies.
- Proven track record in troubleshooting complex systems and performing comprehensive unit and integration testing.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience in the hospitality domain is highly advantageous for understanding specific business logic and user needs.
Work Environment and Benefits
This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week on-site at the client’s Orlando office. This model offers the perfect balance of collaborative in-person interaction and the flexibility of remote work. Candidates must be local to the Orlando area or willing to relocate immediately, as local residency is a strict requirement for this position. The duration of the contract is initially 6-12 months with a high probability of extension based on performance and project needs. Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $185,000 per year
