Position Overview: Java Fullstack Developer
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Java Fullstack Developer for a W2 contract position based in either Houston, TX, or Chicago, IL. This role is designed for a developer who thrives in high-performance environments and possesses a deep understanding of the modern Java ecosystem. As we progress through 2026, the demand for developers who can bridge the gap between robust backend services and scalable data processing has never been higher. This position offers a competitive rate of $55/hr on W2, reflecting the specialized skill set required for our current project roadmap.
Technical Requirements and Scope
- Java Mastery: Strong, fundamental knowledge of Java (latest versions) with a focus on clean code, design patterns, and multi-threaded programming.
- Spring Boot Excellence: Extensive experience building microservices using the Spring Boot framework, including Spring Security, Spring Data, and RESTful API development.
- Big Data Integration: Expert-level proficiency in Apache Spark for distributed data processing, enabling the application to handle massive datasets with efficiency.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications in a cloud-native environment.
- Fullstack Capability: While the focus is heavily on backend and data layers, the candidate should be comfortable navigating the full application stack to ensure seamless integration.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable backend services that power our core business logic. You will work closely with data engineers to optimize Spark jobs and ensure that our Kubernetes clusters are running efficiently. A significant portion of the role involves maintaining high code quality through rigorous testing and participating in peer code reviews. In the Houston and Chicago markets, this role represents a critical link in our digital transformation strategy, requiring a developer who is both a technical expert and a collaborative team player.
