Role Overview
Teamware Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Lead with a deep specialization in AWS and the Banking domain for a critical role based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position is designed for a technical visionary who can bridge the gap between complex financial business requirements and scalable cloud-native architectures. As a Lead, you will be at the forefront of our digital transformation initiatives, ensuring that our banking platforms are resilient, secure, and highly performant. This role requires a minimum of 11 years of professional experience, with a significant portion dedicated to leading high-impact development teams in the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of RESTful and event-driven APIs on the AWS cloud platform.
- Architect and implement robust API solutions utilizing a wide array of AWS services, including but not limited to API Gateway, AWS Lambda, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, S3, and OpenSearch.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex banking requirements into actionable technical roadmaps.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to a diverse team of onshore and offshore developers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Oversee rigorous code reviews and enforce strict coding standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and secure code.
- Implement industry-leading security practices for API development, focusing on authentication, authorization (OAuth2/OIDC), and comprehensive data protection.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize API performance to ensure maximum scalability and reliability under heavy transaction loads common in banking environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues with a sense of urgency, ensuring minimal downtime for essential financial services.
- Stay at the cutting edge of emerging AWS technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending improvements to our existing tech stack.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum of 11 years of software development experience, with at least 7 years of hands-on Java development and 3 years in a formal technical lead capacity.
- Extensive experience with AWS core services, specifically API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and OpenSearch.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java (Spring Boot), Python, and Node.js.
- Expertise in API design and management using REST and OpenAPI/Swagger; experience with GraphQL is considered a significant advantage.
- Deep familiarity with modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer certification.
- Proven track record within the financial services or banking industry, understanding the nuances of regulatory compliance and financial data security.
- Advanced knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
This position is strictly for candidates currently residing in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
