Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Solution Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating solution architecture and high-level design documents, decomposing solutions into domains, designing APIs, and creating epics and stories for developers. You will also manage the implementation team and leverage your deep understanding of software design principles and architecture patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a technology vision and strategy for assigned solutions or business domains.
- Conduct solution analysis, design, planning, and implementation using a holistic approach to ensure successful strategy execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between IT and business stakeholders for the solution.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and other Architects to shape product roadmaps and deliver new features.
- Present complex technical proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
- Lead development teams during solution implementation, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Work effectively across multiple projects with diverse individuals and groups.
- Promote re-use of solutions and components through inner sourcing opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry technology trends and emerging technologies, driving adoption within the organization.
- Actively promote the company’s mission and core values.
Technical Skills and Experience:
- Solution Architecture: 6-8 years of experience in creating solution architecture and high-level design documents, solution decomposition into domains, API design, creating epics and stories for developers, and managing implementation teams.
- Microservices: Proven experience with microservice design, including REST-based microservice APIs.
- Software Design Principles: Master understanding of software design principles and excellent knowledge of major architecture patterns.
- Agile Methodologies: Strong, pragmatic approach to leading architecture and development solutions with a proven record in agile delivery. Deep experience in AGILE/Lean development methodologies.
- Cloud Services: Excellent knowledge and strong experience with AWS services.
- Containerization: Good knowledge of containerization tools and technologies such as RedHat OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Programming Languages & Frameworks: Strong proficiency with Java and Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Springboot).
- Databases: Experience with SQL and NoSQL DBMS (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB).
- Development Practices: Good understanding of DevOps processes and CI/CD tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work through ambiguous and open-ended business requirements and translate them into a clear roadmap and definition of success.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and follow up to ensure achievement of deadlines, outcomes, and results.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
