Role Overview
The Java Solution Architect is a strategic leadership position responsible for building a comprehensive technology vision and strategy for specific business domains. This role involves a holistic approach to solution analysis, design, and planning, ensuring that technical implementations align perfectly with long-term business goals. Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) between IT and business stakeholders, the Architect will lead the development team through the entire lifecycle of solution implementation, translating complex business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to shape product roadmaps and align the delivery of new features with architectural standards.
- Design and document high-level solution architectures, including domain decomposition and API design.
- Lead the development team during implementation, providing technical oversight and ensuring adherence to coding and design standards.
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and innovative approaches into the organization’s ecosystem.
- Present complex technical proposals and architectural strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
- Work closely with Data Architects to define table designs and create formal contracts for data team integration.
- Promote software re-use through inner-sourcing opportunities and maintain a focus on scalable, resilient system design.
- Drive the adoption of AGILE and Lean development methodologies across the engineering organization.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and technical evolution within the company.
Technical Requirements
- Mandatory 15+ years of experience in the IT industry with 5-7 years specifically in a Solution Architecture role.
- Deep expertise in Java and modern Java frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
- Extensive experience in Microservices design, including REST-based API development and management.
- Strong proficiency with AWS cloud services and containerization technologies like RedHat OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Advanced knowledge of message queuing systems, specifically Kafka, and database technologies including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB).
- Solid understanding of DevOps processes and CI/CD toolchains.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead global, cross-functional teams.
Special Requirements

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
