Role Overview
Vtechys LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer with a strong background in Angular for a long-term contract position in Jersey City, NJ. This role is critical for our client’s digital transformation initiatives, requiring a professional who can bridge the gap between robust backend services and dynamic, responsive frontend interfaces. The ideal candidate will have over a decade of experience in the software development lifecycle, specifically within the Java ecosystem, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality enterprise applications. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence and ensuring that the architecture meets the rigorous demands of a modern enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 8, 11, and 17.
- Architect and implement microservices using Spring Boot, ensuring high performance, security, and maintainability.
- Develop sophisticated frontend components using Angular (version 12 and above) and TypeScript to create a seamless user experience.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs to facilitate efficient communication between system components and external services.
- Manage complex application state within Angular applications using RxJS and state management libraries like NgRx.
- Optimize application performance through advanced multithreading techniques, design patterns, and efficient database query tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and UI/UX designers, to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous unit testing using frameworks such as JUnit, Jasmine, and Karma.
- Participate in and enhance CI/CD processes, utilizing tools like Maven, Gradle, Git, and Jenkins for automated deployments.
- Deploy and manage applications in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure consistency across environments.
- Work within cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to leverage cloud-native services for high availability and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to maintain high standards of software engineering.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in Java development with a focus on enterprise-grade applications.
- Expertise in the Spring Framework ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
- Strong proficiency in Angular (v12+), TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including schema design and SQL optimization.
- Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for asynchronous communication.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools, version control (Git), and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Knowledge of code quality and security tools like SonarQube to ensure robust and secure codebases.

The engagement is on a W2 basis for a duration of 6 to 12 months, with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
