Job Overview
Our client, Adobe, is seeking a skilled Jira Administrator to join their Enterprise Tools team. This is an onsite contract position in San Jose, CA. You will play a vital role in designing, building, improving, supporting, and maintaining one of the world’s largest and most complex Jira Data Center installations, while also contributing to the team’s migration to the Atlassian Cloud Stack. You will be responsible for the performance and availability of critical tools, guiding best practices, managing Jira projects, resolving user issues, and performing upgrades. This role also involves integrating various tools within the product development stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain tools hosted on-premises, including performing application-level upgrades.
- Troubleshoot, proactively optimize applications, and perform necessary cleanup tasks.
- Educate engineering teams on best practices for Jira and related tools.
- Create, maintain, and improve monitoring and alerting systems using NewRelic and Splunk.
- Expand self-service capabilities by identifying and building tools and automations for users and administrators.
- Collaborate with infrastructure support teams to ensure software and hardware are updated and patched.
- Evaluate Atlassian Cloud offerings and prepare for the upcoming Jira Cloud migration.
- Provide hands-on support for Jira Data Center and assist with the transition to Jira Cloud.
- Work with integrations that connect the product development stack, including various external and in-house tools.
- Contribute to governance and tool usage efficiency initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of Jira Data Center system administration experience at an enterprise level.
- 2+ years of Jira Cloud system administration experience at an enterprise level.
- Hands-on Jira Cloud preparation and migration experience.
- Growing knowledge and passion for AI systems.
- Accountability for both front-end and back-end technical challenges in an enterprise data center environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with RedHat Linux system administration and programming.
- Fluency with Java, scripting languages, Oracle, and SQL databases.
- Working knowledge of Atlassian products, GitHub, and orchestration tools.
- Experience with tool integrations at the enterprise level, such as Jira and GitHub.
- Customer support mindset with the ability to communicate complex engineering initiatives to both programmers and non-technical users.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Confluence Cloud and Confluence Cloud migration.
- AWS knowledge or similar experience with other public cloud offerings.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)
