Role Overview
Fustis LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior IT Engineer (IT Engineer II) to join our dynamic technical team in Reston, Virginia. This role is designed for a professional with 1-3 years of experience who is ready to apply theoretical engineering principles to real-world, moderately complex software and hardware development projects. The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days of on-site presence at our Reston facility, allowing for a balance of collaborative in-person engagement and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute moderately complex software engineering development projects from inception to deployment.
- Utilize advanced software and hardware engineering principles to ensure system stability and scalability.
- Apply industry standards such as CCITT, OBF, and ISO to all architectural and development tasks.
- Conduct comprehensive business analysis to translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the integration of third-party hardware and software solutions.
- Perform system capacity planning and analysis to ensure infrastructure can meet future growth demands.
- Execute functional configuration and audits to maintain system integrity and compliance with internal protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and implement robust IT systems.
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field is mandatory.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in IT systems engineering or software development.
- Broad knowledge of IT systems architecture and hardware-software integration.
- Proficiency in system planning tools and capacity analysis methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles and lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
