Join our talented development team in partnership with New York State of Health (NYSoH) to provide comprehensive health coverage to more than 7.0 million New Yorkers through its Health Benefit Exchange (HBE).
Key Requirements (Must Meet All to be Considered)
- Location: Must currently live in Albany, NY, or the immediate surrounding area. This role is 100% onsite.
- Experience: 2-3 years of software development experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain highly complex, high-volume, large-scale software on a Java/J2EE application stack.
- Follow full software development life-cycle (SDLC) methodology from concept and design to testing and documentation.
- Analyze user/business needs to plan and design software systems that meet functional requirements.
- Ensure specification compliancy and adhere to coding standards.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner using critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Core Tech: Strong understanding of Core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, ORM Tools, Java Build tools, and Junit testing.
- Database: Ability to write simple and complex SQL Queries (DB2 SQL syntax/PL/SQL preferred).
- Web Services: Experience with Web Services and Relational Databases.
- Bonus Skills: Angular experience is a plus. Healthcare, Medicaid, or Health Exchange experience is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Good analytical, multitasking, oral, and written communication skills.
Special Requirements
100% onsite in Albany, NY. Skype interviews may be required. Healthcare, Medicaid, or Health Exchange experience preferred. DB2 SQL syntax/PL/SQL preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $60,000 – $90,000 per year
