Job Description: Kafka Consultant
We are seeking a skilled Kafka Consultant to join our team. This role requires a deep understanding of Kafka and related streaming technologies, with a focus on production environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tuning, monitoring, and integrating Kafka with other systems.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms in production environments for 4+ years.
- Implement and manage exactly-once semantics, consumer group management, and partitioning strategies.
- Utilize schema registry for managing data schemas effectively.
- Perform operational monitoring of Kafka clusters and related components.
- Develop and maintain Kafka producer/consumer tuning configurations.
- Implement the outbox pattern for reliable event publishing.
- Manage event replay and backfill processes as needed.
- Handle dead letter queue management and resolution.
- Facilitate schema evolution and ensure data compatibility.
- Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting for Kafka infrastructure.
- Integrate Kafka with PostgreSQL for transactional writes.
- Develop solutions using Typescript (must have).

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
