Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Kong Architect to design, implement, and manage API gateway solutions within a modern microservices architecture for a leading financial services client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and architect API gateway solutions using Kong Gateway in a hybrid/cloud environment
- Define API lifecycle management standards, governance, and security best practices
- Implement and manage plugins for authentication, rate limiting, logging, and monitoring
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to enable scalable API ecosystems
- Lead migration from legacy gateways to Kong-based architecture
- Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and fault tolerance of API platforms
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Kong API Gateway (Enterprise/Open Source)
- Expertise in REST APIs, microservices architecture, and API security (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Strong understanding of API analytics, monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience in financial services domain preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
