About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our Digital and Cloud Engineering organization. This team is responsible for supporting enterprise needs by providing and managing Kubernetes Clusters and containerization applications. You will play a key role in the automated provisioning, building, and evolving of our Kubernetes platform, as well as managing infrastructure package releases and supporting production-grade environments. Our organization manages over 600+ clusters, supporting critical Tier One and Tier Two applications.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage secure and reliable Kubernetes/containerization platforms at scale (hundreds of clusters or clusters with hundreds of nodes).
  • Deploy, manage, and upgrade CNCF packages such as Istio, ArgoCD, Kubernetes security (OPA), Prometheus, and Ingress Gateways at scale.
  • Run production workloads on GKE or similar platforms (AKS, EKS, RKE, OpenShift), with a deep understanding of Helm charts.
  • Work with tools like HashiCorp Vault, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform.

Key Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, including DevOps, Platform Engineering, CI/CD, and Containerization.
  • Proficiency with Terraform.
  • Experience with GitOps practices.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with containers, specifically Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including managing large numbers of clusters or nodes.
  • Experience with containerization security, particularly OPA (Open Policy Agent).
  • Familiarity with Istio – an open-source service mesh.
  • Experience with GKE or similar platforms like AKS, EKS, RKE, or OpenShift, including a deep understanding of Helm charts.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with GCP / GKE is highly desirable.

This is a contract position with a duration of 1 Year, offering a hybrid work model in Dallas, TX. Candidates must be local to the Dallas area.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year
