Job Opportunity: Lead Data Engineer / Data Platform Lead
We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Data Engineer or Data Platform Lead with expertise in Snowflake and Power BI for a 100% remote position. West Coast candidates are preferred. This role requires a strong technical background and leadership capabilities to drive our data platform initiatives.
Role Overview:
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining our data platform. You will play a key role in modernizing and scaling our data infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of data engineering solutions.
- Architect, manage, and optimize the Snowflake data warehouse, focusing on performance tuning and data modeling.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, semantic models, and ensure data governance.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers and other team members.
- Drive initiatives to modernize and scale the existing data platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the platform.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including architecture, performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Proven experience with Power BI, including semantic models, reporting, and governance.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring teams (formal or informal).
- Experience in modernizing or scaling a data platform.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
