  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to support high-performance analytics and data warehousing.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level data engineers.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Manage the deployment of applications to production environments, including performance tuning and debugging.
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GIT.
  • Utilize domain expertise in insurance (claims and loss) to enhance the relevance and accuracy of data solutions.

Required Technical Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering and delivery.
  • Expertise in Big Data concepts and cloud-native implementations.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and Pyspark for data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and the AWS ecosystem (Glue, EMR, S3, Aurora, RDS).
  • Strong understanding of data ingestion frameworks and data modeling.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 and data migration strategies is highly desirable.
  • AWS or Snowflake certifications are considered a significant plus.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Beyond technical prowess, we value excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You should be a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and the ability to take ownership of projects from conception to completion. This role requires a hybrid work schedule, with four days per week onsite in Jersey City, making local residency or a manageable commute essential. Join us to lead the next generation of data engineering in the insurance sector.
