Role Overview: Lead Data Engineer
DigitalDhara is seeking a distinguished Lead Data Engineer for a high-impact role based in Boston, MA. This position requires a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in data engineering, architecture, and leadership. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the technical roadmap for our data platforms, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our data infrastructure. This is a local-only requirement for candidates currently residing in the Boston metropolitan area.
Strategic Responsibilities and Technical Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Architect modern data warehouse and data lake solutions to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level data engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications.
- Ensure data integrity and quality across all platforms through the implementation of automated testing and monitoring frameworks.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to handle massive datasets with high performance.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging data technologies and tools to maintain a competitive edge.
- Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, from ingestion and processing to visualization and archival.
- Enforce strict data governance and security policies to protect sensitive information.
- Drive the adoption of DevOps and DataOps practices to streamline development and deployment cycles.
- Participate in architectural review boards to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex data-related issues, providing root cause analysis and long-term resolutions.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 12 years of professional experience in data engineering. We are looking for a leader who has a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and big data technologies. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala is essential. Due to the nature of the project and client requirements, we are only considering candidates who are local to Boston, MA. Additionally, candidates must provide a valid Passport Number for verification purposes as part of the screening process.
