Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lead Database Engineer with strong expertise in AWS Aurora, MySQL, and cloud data migration. The ideal candidate will lead database modernization initiatives, ensure high-performance systems, and support both backend services and application layers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Migration & Database Engineering: Lead data migration from on-premises to cloud environments. Design and implement solutions using AWS Aurora DB and MySQL. Ensure data integrity, scalability, and performance post-migration.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization: Analyze and optimize database performance and query execution. Implement best practices for indexing, query tuning, and resource utilization.
  • Development & Architecture: Follow and enforce architectural principles and coding standards. Contribute to backend services and frontend interface integration as needed.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Conduct code reviews and guide development teams. Mentor team members on database best practices and performance optimization. Provide technical leadership across projects.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Ensure system stability and high availability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders. Translate requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills

  • 7-10 years of experience in Database Engineering / DBA roles.
  • Strong expertise in AWS Aurora DB and MySQL.
  • Proven experience in on-prem to cloud data migration.
  • Strong knowledge of version control & deployment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Java development (nice to have).
  • Exposure to full stack or backend systems.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
