Position Summary
HMG America LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Engineer for a Java Full Stack Developer role. This is a high-impact position requiring onsite presence from Day 1 in either Dallas, TX, or Pleasanton, CA. As a Lead Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing sophisticated web and mobile applications, with a specific emphasis on integrating Power BI for advanced reporting capabilities. This role is designed for a technical visionary who can navigate the complexities of modern backend architectures while ensuring a seamless and responsive frontend experience. You will serve as a mentor to junior developers and a strategic partner to leadership, driving technical excellence across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive system requirement specifications and detailed technical design documents for complex, high-traffic features.
- Architect and implement high-quality, maintainable code for both web and mobile platforms using Java and React.js.
- Integrate Power BI as the primary reporting tool, ensuring data visualization meets the strategic needs of the business.
- Lead and participate in rigorous code reviews to uphold coding standards and ensure the delivery of robust software solutions.
- Coordinate the timely release of application bug fixes and feature enhancements, maintaining a high level of system reliability.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence to software engineering best practices.
- Actively drive Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Identify and escalate technical roadblocks to leadership, providing actionable solutions and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the implementation of comprehensive unit tests (Junit, Cucumber) to guarantee performance and functionality.
Technical Stack and Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in IT. Expertise in the following technologies is required: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and React.js. On the data side, proficiency with PostgreSQL and MongoDB is essential. A critical component of this role is expertise in Power BI; candidates must be able to leverage this tool to create insightful business intelligence reports. Experience with messaging tools like RabbitMQ and Kafka is highly preferred, as is a strong understanding of event-driven architecture. Familiarity with DevOps concepts, including CI/CD pipelines, telemetry, and alerting, is vital for success in this modern engineering environment. Retail domain knowledge is considered a significant advantage.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
