Role Overview
The Lead GCP Data Engineer/Architect is a high-impact leadership position designed for a technical visionary capable of bridging the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance cloud data solutions. Located in the vibrant Palm Beach, FL area, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to spearhead the modernization of data infrastructures for large-scale enterprise environments. As the lead, you will be responsible for the architectural integrity and technical execution of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, ensuring that data flows seamlessly from legacy ERP systems into actionable insights. This role requires a blend of hands-on engineering excellence and strategic decision-making to drive the next generation of our data platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of scalable, resilient data architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
- Architect, develop, and optimize complex data pipelines and storage solutions using Dataflow (Apache Beam), Cloud SQL, and BigQuery.
- Own and optimize high-performance SQL queries and Python-based data processing frameworks for ERP data replication.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, ETL/ELT frameworks, and pipeline orchestration.
- Drive DevOps and CI/CD strategies for data platforms using GCP-native tools to ensure rapid and reliable deployment.
- Ensure platform reliability, data quality, security, and cost optimization across all cloud resources.
- Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Conduct design reviews, performance tuning, and production issue resolution for mission-critical systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of overall experience in data engineering and analytics platforms.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python for large-scale data processing.
- Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Dataflow.
- Proven experience in GCP DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and automation.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data warehousing, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience designing and operating high-volume, high-availability data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with real-time/streaming architecture replicating data from legacy ERP systems.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and security best practices.
- GCP certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments, particularly within the Supply Chain domain.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
