Role Overview
Our client, a premier global Hedge Fund (HRT), is seeking a highly skilled Linux Operations Administrator to join their mission-critical infrastructure team in Manhattan, NY. This is a hybrid role requiring an 80% onsite presence to support a high-performance, on-premises computing (HPC) environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the stability, performance, and scalability of a massive Linux-based production ecosystem that handles compute-intensive workloads in a fast-paced financial trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support Linux-based production systems in a high-availability, low-latency environment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot complex system performance issues in real-time to ensure zero downtime.
- Support and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines within live production environments to facilitate rapid deployment.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated automation scripts using Bash and Python to streamline operational tasks.
- Manage containerized applications and oversee container orchestration and operations.
- Lead production incident response, performing deep-dive root cause analysis and implementing permanent remediations.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, engineering, and trading operations teams to optimize system architecture.
- Support compute-intensive workloads specifically tailored for an on-prem HPC environment.
Technical Requirements
- 3-4+ years of professional experience in Linux systems administration within large-scale production environments.
- Profound understanding of Linux internals, kernel tuning, and system performance troubleshooting.
- Expert-level hands-on scripting experience with Bash and Python for automation and tooling.
- Proven experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in live, mission-critical environments.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization technologies.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts including switches, routing, and traffic flow analysis.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $220,000 per year (Estimated)
