Position Summary
K&K Global Talent Solutions Inc. is looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer for a long-term contract position supporting our client, Infogain. This role is onsite and can be based in Jersey City, NJ, Dallas, TX, or Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in mainframe environments and a proven track record of managing complex data integration and batch processing systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
- Expertly configure and manage file transfer operations using IBM Sterling Connect:Direct (formerly NDM) across diverse platforms.
- Develop and optimize complex JCL streams for high-volume batch processing, ensuring system efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with database administrators to design and tune DB2 queries and stored procedures for optimal performance.
- Manage and troubleshoot CICS online transactions and ensure seamless integration with backend batch processes.
- Implement and maintain secure file transfer protocols including SFTP and FTPS within the mainframe environment.
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with network teams to configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity for mainframe applications.
- Document technical specifications, system architectures, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity for critical mainframe systems.
Required Technical Skills
- Extensive experience with IBM Sterling Connect:Direct (NDM) and its integration within z/OS.
- Advanced proficiency in JCL, including the use of procedures, symbols, and conditional processing.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe subsystems including CICS, DB2, and IMS.
- Familiarity with mainframe security protocols and RACF configurations.
- Experience with version control tools like Endevor or Changeman.
- Ability to analyze and optimize legacy code for modern performance standards.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 per year
