Job Title: Mainframe Engineer Sr
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer Sr to join our team. This role requires a strong background in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 on IBM zOS mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications, ensuring their performance, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs on IBM zOS mainframe systems.
- Create, modify, and optimize JCL scripts for efficient batch job execution.
- Work extensively with DB2 for SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Debug and troubleshoot application-level issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and QA, for end-to-end delivery.
- Perform unit testing and support integration/system testing phases.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Provide essential production support and resolve incidents related to mainframe applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems.
- Strong expertise in JCL and DB2, including SQL and stored procedures.
- Familiarity with CICS for online transaction processing.
- Proficiency in TSO/ISPF and mainframe debugging tools.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of COBOL programs.
- Knowledge of mainframe utilities (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS).
- Exposure to DevOps tools for mainframe environments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)
