Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Engineer with experience in AI/Open AI to join our team. This role involves providing application software development services and technical support in complex situations. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, experience in leading technical design and development, and the ability to analyze, define, and document requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides application software development services or technical support in more complex situations.
- May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRDSRD preparation.
- Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Conducts reviews of the test Plan and test Data.
- May allocate and coordinate work within a team project.
- Leads the technical design, development, and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
- Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data workflow, logical processes, and interfaces with other systems.
- Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating coding, testing, implementation, and documentation.
- Writes well-designed, testable, efficient code.
- Analyzes, designs, and develops tests and test automation suites.
- Develops flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions.
- Maintains software functionality, technical debt, and gains.
- Actively participates in code reviews and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
- Applies security and privacy principles.
- Executes full lifecycle software development.
- Develops software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
- Troubleshoots, debugs, and upgrades existing systems.
- Ensures software is updated with the latest features.
- Participates in the deployment process following all change controls.
- Provides ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
- Provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Actively engages in learning and completes all required mandatory training and policy awareness curricula on time.
- Uses learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete personal development plan targets.
- Demonstrates teamwork, leverages existing product functionality, and promotes reuse.
- Works alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Collaborates closely with all other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts committed to by the team.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.
- Utilizes local meetups to gain and share knowledge.
- Compiles documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in the system.
- Acts as a mentor to junior-level engineers.
Mandatory Skills:
- CICS, JCL, Mainframe, DB2, Mainframe Enterprise Cobol, VSAM
- Generative AI/Open AI/Vector DB, Git
Skill Requirements:
- AI Assisted Development
- COBOL JCL CICS DB2 VSAM
- Object-oriented programming concepts
- DevOps tools and concepts including GIT branching strategies, pull, merge
- Agile Tools including JIRA, Zephyr Scale, Confluence
