Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise storage environments within large-scale mainframe infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IBM storage systems, disaster recovery solutions, and Parallel Sysplex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage storage pools and optimize storage utilization.
- Provide expert support for space allocation and usage optimization.
- Administer and maintain IBM DS8000 (DS8K) storage systems.
- Support large-scale Parallel Sysplex environments.
- Perform system initialization, performance tuning, and overall storage optimization.
- Support virtual tape operations (Luminex experience preferred).
- Work with DFHSM for hierarchical storage management.
- Utilize FDR and MVSRM for backup and recovery management.
- Support IBM GDPS environments, including: Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, Metro-Global, HyperSwap.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain IBM and third-party storage products.
- Perform SMP/E installation and maintenance.
- Use DB2 and IMS utilities.
- Develop and maintain JCL and TSO scripts, including REXX and CLIST.
- Utilize UNIX System Services, including file systems and mount management.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Deep knowledge of DFHSM, DFSMS, FDR, MVSRM.
- Strong experience with storage pool operations.
- In-depth understanding of mainframe storage architecture and MVS commands.
- Expert-level skills in JCL, TSO, REXX and CLIST scripting, SMP/E, UNIX System Services (file systems and mounts).
Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)
