Job Overview:
Innovcentric LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe System Automation Engineer for a remote role. This position is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of our mainframe environment through advanced automation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mainframe operations and a proven track record in implementing and managing automation tools and strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on z/OS Automation Migration Projects and contribute to the modernization of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide operational, service, consultancy, or support in a mainframe environment for over 10 years.
- Implement and manage z/OS Automation Migration Projects.
- Utilize expertise in Tivoli System Automation, Netview, REXX, Automation Tables, Netcool, OPS/MVS, GDPS, and REXX EXEC SA.
- Work with the Automation Policy Database (PDB) and implement Event-Driven Automation.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiently use TSO and ISPF.
- Possess strong JCL skills.
- Ability to write REXX scripts and maintain a working knowledge of the System Automation Policy Database (PDB).
- Implement and utilize products such as NetView for z/OS and System Automation for z/OS.
- Gain experience with Z software, including system operation, configuration, and automation.
- Manage z/OS system startup and shutdown procedures.
- Utilize SMP/E for software management.
- Familiarity with products that compete against IBM products in the Z software space.
- Experience in automated system configurations on IBM Z.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a mainframe operations environment.
- Extensive experience with Tivoli System Automation, Netview, REXX, Automation Tables, Netcool, OPS/MVS, GDPS.
- Proficiency in REXX scripting and System Automation Policy Database (PDB) management.
- Strong understanding of z/OS operating system and its automation capabilities.
- Experience with JCL, TSO, and ISPF.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other Z software and automation tools.
- Knowledge of competing products in the mainframe automation space.
- Experience in implementing automated system configurations on IBM Z.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70 – $95 per year (Estimated)
