Role Overview
The Manhattan WMS Solution Architect is a high-level strategic position responsible for the comprehensive design, governance, and delivery of end-to-end warehouse management solutions. In the landscape of 2026 supply chain technology, this role serves as the bridge between physical logistics operations and enterprise-level financial and resource planning. The primary focus of this engagement is the seamless integration of Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System (MAWM) with SAP ERP environments, ensuring that data integrity and operational efficiency are maintained across multi-site implementations. This is a 6-month contract with a high probability of extension, offering remote flexibility with a preference for candidates who can occasionally support operations in Lisle, IL.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document end-to-end solution designs that integrate Manhattan WMS with SAP ERP, covering critical business flows such as order management, inventory synchronization, procurement, and finance.
- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and detailed data flow documentation to guide development and implementation teams.
- Lead the design and governance of all SAP-Manhattan integration points, utilizing technologies such as IDocs, APIs, EDI, and Message Queues (MQ).
- Ensure real-time data accuracy for inventory updates, stock ledger synchronization, and inbound/outbound order processing.
- Manage the integration of Material Master, Batch, Serial, and Handling Unit data across platforms.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance on Manhattan WMS components, including receiving, put-away, slotting, picking, packing, waving, and shipping.
- Optimize labor management and warehouse throughput through advanced configuration and technical troubleshooting.
- Establish design standards and best practices for WMS and ERP connectivity to ensure scalable and maintainable systems.
Technical Expertise and Innovation
In this role, you will be expected to leverage the latest advancements in supply chain technology. This includes overseeing MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and automation interfaces that drive modern, high-velocity distribution centers. You will act as the primary technical authority during multi-site rollouts, ensuring that local warehouse requirements are met without compromising the global architectural integrity of the SAP-Manhattan ecosystem. Your expertise will be vital in troubleshooting complex integration failures and performance bottlenecks in high-volume environments.
Strategic Leadership
Beyond technical configuration, the Solution Architect must possess strong architectural thinking and leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical requirements into business-aligned outcomes. This involves managing expectations, leading design workshops, and providing a clear roadmap for system enhancements. The ability to solve problems under pressure and maintain a high sense of ownership over the end-to-end solution is paramount for success in this high-impact role.
Special Requirements
Visa constraints: USC/GC/GCEAD/H4EAD only. Remote work allowed; Lisle, IL location preferred. Must have specific Manhattan and SAP integration experience.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
