Job Overview: MCP Connector Developer
Stellent IT is hiring an experienced MCP Connector Developer to support a Fortune 500 client in Atlanta, GA. This role is at the forefront of the AI revolution, focusing on the development of Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors. These connectors are essential for enabling next-generation AI agents to securely and efficiently interact with complex enterprise systems, databases, and third-party APIs. This is a hybrid role requiring local candidates who can attend on-site interviews and work from the Atlanta office as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain MCP connectors to bridge the gap between LLM-based AI agents and enterprise data sources.
- Build scalable and high-performance integration layers using Python and Node.js (TypeScript).
- Implement asynchronous and concurrent programming patterns to ensure low-latency data exchange between AI models and backend services.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, platform engineers, and backend developers to define context requirements and tool capabilities for autonomous agents.
- Ensure all integrations adhere to strict enterprise security standards, including OAuth, JWT, and rate-limiting protocols.
- Document connector specifications, deployment guides, and API schemas to support a growing ecosystem of AI-driven applications.
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to promote maintainable and reusable integration patterns.
- Optimize data workflows to handle large-scale enterprise datasets while maintaining high reliability and error resilience.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python or Node.js/TypeScript, with a focus on backend development and systems integration.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous programming (async/await) and concurrent processing.
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design, JSON-RPC, and modern data exchange formats.
- Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or a strong interest in AI agent orchestration frameworks like LangChain or Anthropic’s Claude API.
- Experience working within a Fortune 500 environment, understanding the complexities of enterprise-scale infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving technical landscape.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Atlanta, GA, and participate in mandatory in-person interviews.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience building connectors for CRM systems (Salesforce), ERPs (SAP), or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Knowledge of vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Background in DevOps and CI/CD practices for automated testing and deployment of integration services.
